What Makes Our Tables Different?

If you go to one of the big box furniture stores today, you’ll likely see some gorgeous tables. The question is, what are those tables made out of? Are they made from solid wood? Designed to be durable? Can they stand up to the little one’s daily crafts? Will they last for years to come? Chances are, they probably won’t.

At Rustic Elements Furniture, we take a different approach. We believe in building easy to live with, quality furniture that will last for decades to come. Tables seem to classify better as workbenches than furniture. They see a lot of use compared to any other furniture in the typical household. Thus, our table construction focuses on a quality build, solid hard woods, and an excellent finish.

5 Things That Set Our Tables Apart

There are a few key features that set our tables apart. Starting with the custom options and collaborative design process, to the quality of the materials we use and work we do. Below are just a few reasons why our tables are some of the best on the market.

Quality Materials

We build our tables using large, solid wood planks. The boards are cut to create a seamless transition and sanded to a glass-like smoothness forming one large surface. Thus, building a true solid top while retaining the natural character of the wood. Our tables are very sturdy and typically weigh between 150 to over 500 lbs. We use woods such as: hickory, ash, walnut, and oak as they are some of the hardest domestic wood species.  Meaning, you won’t leave signatures all over the table when you write. Due to their toughness and durability, these are our top wood choices.

Tough Finish

Life happens, something we’re very aware of. Wine gets spilled or your toddler decides to paint the Mona Lisa on the kitchen table. Whatever the case may be, our tables are built to withstand daily use. We use a high-end, commercial grade polyurethane that is imported from Italy on most of our tables. It is one of the toughest finishes on the market and can stand up to heat, cold, water, and chemicals. Typically, you need not worry about water rings or hazing. It is not indestructible, but it has been known to withstand nail polish remover, gasoline, etc. Overall, it is very forgiving for those “oops” moments, but if there is a spill, we encourage a timely clean up.

Completely Custom

All our tables are designed and built from scratch. At Rustic Elements, everything is completely custom – meaning you get to decide every last detail. From the dimensions to the style, the finish, to the type of wood – you choose it all! We will also work with you every step of the way offering advice, samples of past projects, and sketches if required. If you’ve seen a table online that you love, send it to us! More than likely we offer something similar or we can pull design elements from it to create a unique piece to both you and us. We believe in a very collaborative process that ensures the finished table is, put simply, your table.

Variety of Styles

Offering a variety of styles and bases is something we pride ourselves on.  The range stretches from simple four leg designs, beautifully carved pedestals to metal bases. Within every variety there are options.  Generally, bases will be scaled according to the table size. Our goal is to bring your vision to life and build a table that will be a focal point in your home for many years to come.

Quality of Work

We believe in the quality of our work and durability of our tables. That’s why we offer a warranty on our furniture for up to 227 years for structural issues. Yes, it’s obnoxious, but a statement that means that we take pride in what comes out of our shop. Our team is experienced, knowledgeable, and puts in the necessary time and effort to learn our craft. This is all in an effort to build furniture that is not only beautiful, but easy to live with and will last.
